competitive facility location using clustering of customers
Authors
abstract
competitive facility location focus on locating facilities by considering the fact of competition in businesses, so every facilities try to reach their reachable shares through competition. reachable shares have an indirect relation with the distance of facilities to the customer and a direct relation with the attractiveness of the facility. attractiveness of any facility is depend on variety of reasons such as quality and price. all these factors have a special weight for each customer in different places. in this proposed model, mentioned factors are considered and customers are classified in different branches which in every one of these branches price and quality have different weights. the model is solved in three step. in the first step attractiveness of the facility will be clear, in the second step suitable place for location will be specified and finally at the final step the quality and price of new facility in optimized place will be shown. an example is solved at the end to validate the model.

Sequential Competitive Facility Location Problem in a Discrete Planar Space
In this paper, there are two competitors in a planar market. The first competitor, called, the leader, opens new facilities. After that, the second competitor, the follower, reacts to the leader’s action and opens r new facilities. The leader and the follower have got some facilities in advance in this market. The optimal locations for leader and follower are chosen among predefined candida...

We consider a competitive facility location problem with two players. Players alternate placing points, one at a time, into the playing arena, until each of them has placed n points. The arena is then subdivided according to the nearest-neighbor rule, and the player whose points control the larger area wins. We present a winning strategy for the second player, where the arena is a circle or a l...

full textFaster Facility Location and Hierarchical Clustering
We propose several methods to speed up the facility location, and the single link and the complete link clustering algorithms. The local search algorithm for the facility location is accelerated by introducing several space partitioning methods and a parallelisation on the CPU of a standard desktop computer. The influence of the cluster size on the speedup is documented. The paper further prese...
full textA Non-linear Integer Bi-level Programming Model for Competitive Facility Location of Distribution Centers
The facility location problem is a strategic decision-making for a supply chain, which determines the profitability and sustainability of its components. This paper deals with a scenario where two supply chains, consisting of a producer, a number of distribution centers and several retailers provided with similar products, compete to maintain their market shares by opening new distribution cent...
full textSolution of Discrete Competitive Facility Location Problem for Firm Expansion
A new heuristic algorithm for solution of bi-objective discrete competitive facility location problems is developed and experimentally investigated by solving different instances of a facility location problem for firm expansion. The proposed algorithm is based on ranking of candidate locations for the new facilities, where rank values are dynamically adjusted with respect to behaviour of the a...
